Welcome

Welcome. This is the start of something we hope will feel open, honest, and genuinely useful for Bristol City supporters.

This blog exists as a space to talk — not at fans, but with them. As the Fans Advisory Board, we’re here to represent supporters and act as a bridge between the club and the people who follow it week in, week out. That means listening, asking questions, sharing insight, and helping improve what it feels like to support Bristol City FC — on matchdays and beyond.

Supporting a football club is never a straight line. There are days when everything clicks: the performance, the atmosphere, the belief. And there are days when it doesn’t — when results hurt, decisions frustrate, and patience is tested. We all feel those highs and lows. That emotional investment is what makes football matter, and it’s exactly why supporter voices deserve to be heard in a constructive, meaningful way.

The Fans Advisory Board is made up of a diverse group of supporters, all with different backgrounds, experiences, and relationships with the club — but with one thing in common: we care deeply about Bristol City and want it to be the best it can be. Our role isn’t to speak over fans or claim to have all the answers. It’s to listen, to reflect what we’re hearing, and to work collaboratively with the club to help shape decisions that affect the supporter experience.

This blog will be part of that process. It’s a place where we can share updates on what we’re working on, explain how the Board operates, and give context to the conversations we’re having with the club. It’s also a place to be transparent — about progress, about challenges, and about the reality that meaningful change takes time, trust, and dialogue.

Just as importantly, this needs to be a two-way conversation. We want supporters to reach out, share ideas, raise concerns, and highlight what’s working as well as what isn’t. Whether it’s about matchday experience, communication, atmosphere, accessibility, or the small details that shape how it feels to follow the club, your input matters. The strength of the Fans Advisory Board depends on the breadth of voices feeding into it.

We won’t always agree. Football rarely gives us that luxury. But we believe there’s huge value in respectful discussion, shared understanding, and a collective desire to move forward together — especially through the ups and downs that come with supporting a club like ours.

This blog is just one small part of a wider effort to make supporting Bristol City feel more connected, more considered, and more reflective of the people in the stands. We’re glad you’re here, and we hope you’ll be part of the conversation.

Because the best version of this club is built together.
